- <p> In 1972 Phan Thi Kim Phuc won the hearts of Americans at a
- terrible cost to herself. In a Pulitzer-prizewinning photograph,
- the Vietnamese child was shown running naked and screaming as
- napalm burned her body. Although she still suffers considerably
- from her injuries, Kim Phuc, now 26, bears no grudges. She told
- a reporter, "The past is the past." Kim Phuc and Los
- Angeles-based photographer Nick Ut, who helped her after
- snapping the famous picture, were recently reunited in Havana,
- where she is a pharmacology student.
